86 Children stay full time at the home in a dormitory. 105 Orphans and Vulnerable Children supported
145 children learn at the ‘Berean Christian School.’
10 teachers & 15 support staff employed.
12 children learn in other schools but eat lunch at the Ray of Hope daily.
9 children supported financially with school fees in high school.
5 people in colleges/vocational training centres supported financially.
25 widows and aged persons getting rations. 180 people are fed every day.
6 widows have new homes when their old ones were falling apart.
Each year after the rain we put a crop in. Her are some photo’s of the ground being ploughed and prepared for seeding.
All the cooking is done on wood fired stoves so fire wood is purchased and stored on site for use in the kitchen. We use a special type of stove which works very efficiently and cooks with minimal use of firewood.
In July 2016 we began building the dormitory for the Children’s Home. I was very Blessed to lay the foundation stone for the new building. This was my first visit to Kenya and a wonderful opportunity to meet Pastor Benard and Dorothy in person.
Over the years we have been able to see how the block of land has developed and this is the most recent image from August 2019. I have also added captions for the buildings so you can see what you are looking at.
